Unfortunately for the safety of our guests due to the ongoing global pandemic, we have decided to cancel the 2020 EFF Golf Tournament. While our golf tournament will not take place, our mission and services for veterans and first responders continue! Please consider donating to help support our organization and clients while we navigate these unprecedented times. Thank you to all who were able to support us during the recent #NEPAGives event!
Over five years ago, the idea of providing our Service Members and now First Responders, with a unique and highly effective treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD) began to grow and prosper in the minds of a group of very dedicated individuals. With an estimated 22 suicides a day among current and former Military, they recognized the need to address this tragic situation and the non-profit Equines for Freedom was formed. In 2019 EFF began providing treatment to First Responders as well as Veterans.
PTSD comes from an unlimited number of life experiences and it impacts one’s mind and physical well-being. The combination of haunting memories, social avoidance, anxiety, and depression can become so severe that individuals choose suicide, believing it is the only escape. Our team of therapists is here to change that with Equine Assisted-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EA-EMDR) therapy for current and former military and First Responders who have been diagnosed with PTSD. The VA considers EMDR one of the top 3 treatments for PTSD.
Our goal is to provide this therapy at no cost to the Service Member or Emergency Responder. To do this, we must raise funds. Here are some of the opportunities for you to donate. No amount is too small or large. Donations can be sent to Equines for Freedom, PO Box 53 Factoryville, Pa. 18419. We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) group. Copy of our 501(c)(3) is available on request.
Due to the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, we were forced to cancel our largest fundraisers. We are still treating our clients via telemedicine or in person utilizing appropriate protective measures.
